On Wednesday morning, Douglas County Health Director Dr. Adi Pour announced she would be retiring. She made the announcement during the Douglas County Health Board meeting. I d like to retire at the end of June, she said. I ve thought about this a lot over the last year. She said she needed the time to be right for the community, the health department and her family. I think the time is right. This department is strong, she said.Pour thanks her husband for his support and the board of the health for their work. She called it a dream job, saying that public health has risen to new heights. She said she is grateful for the time in her position and said that it has been an honor.Board president Chris Rodgers announces the Health Director Search Committee will search for Pour s replacement. At Wednesday morning s county health board meeting, Dr. Adi Pour announced that she plans to retire at the end of June. I ve thought about this a lot over the last year. Pour has served as the county s health director since 2002. I think the time is right. This department is strong. The health director has spent the past year not only dealing with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but also dealt with death threats due to her decision to take COVID precautions by ordering businesses to close at the start of the pandemic last Spring.

The Leader Of The Douglas County Board Outlines Goals For 2021

By Terry Leahy Veteran Commissioner Mary Ann Borgeson has again been elected Chairperson of the Board for 2021. “I’d like to thank my fellow board members for their support and confidence in me,” Borgeson said. “I look forward to a productive year on behalf of the taxpayers of Douglas County.” In a news release, Borgeson said she has several goals for the year, including a smooth distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine to residents and continued availability of Coronavirus testing. She also plans to make changes to the Board’s operations beginning later this month. “I plan to implement a pre-Board meeting to increase communication about the agenda, address any concerns from Commissioners and gather additional information on agenda items if needed,” Borgeson said. “These meetings will be conducted on Monday mornings via Zoom and will be open to the news media and to the public.”
