Detective Jon Hill will be the departmentâs newest patrol sergeant.
Hill has been with Conway PD since November 2013. Prior to joining the department, Hill served in the Air Force as an aerospace propulsion mechanic and held the rank of staff sergeant. Jon has been assigned to the Investigative Services Division for the past year and is one of the departmentâs use of force/firearms instructors, said Conway Police Chief Chris Mattei. We are very excited for Jon Hill and his family.
On Monday, the department also welcomed a new patrol officer, Mackenzie Kessler.
Kessler grew up in the Mount Washington Valley, and his father, Stephen Kessler, is a patrol sergeant for the Ossipee Police Department.
McLauchlan, 55, was given a heroâs
send-off by his colleagues, who hosted a cookout for him and his wife, Janine, and their daughter, Angela, before honoring him with a farewell retirement radio send-off.
Chief Chris Mattei, who ran the grill for the pre-retirement departure, had nothing but praise for McLauchlan.
âWeâre a fairly small agency â one of the largest agencies north of Concord but smaller at 35 employees,â he said. âSo whenever you have an employee that leaves the department, somebody who retires after 20 years of service, it has a profound impact on us here at the police department.â
He added: âHeâll be missed. Heâs a phenomenal guy, great family man, has been a great member of the community and a great member of our department â weâre gonna miss him.â
