Yarmouth fire Lt. Chris McMahon pulled into the parking lot of Harwich Port Community Health Center around 8:30 Tuesday morning.
He was there to pick up dozens and dozens of doses of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine, which he planned to distribute among five, two-person vaccination teams, each consisting of a paramedic and an EMT.
Armed with the single-dose shots, the teams were scheduled to fan out across town Tuesday to vaccinate about 60 homebound residents. By week’s end, McMahon said, all of Yarmouth s roughly 170 homebound residents would have been fully vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson’s shots.
But when he arrived at the health center, McMahon was greeted by Outer Cape Health Services Director of Compliance Deborah Gavron-Ravenelle.
