Mercury Releases Sustainability Report Apr 23, 2021 Mercury Marine published its 2020 Sustainability Report, which the company said highlights its Environmental, Social and Governance strategies through its efforts to increase clean manufacturing and stewardship. The downloadable report focuses on the pillars of energy, environment, products and people, and includes the collective efforts taken, including protecting the health and safety of workers during the Covid-19 pandemic. “We needed to re-engineer many work processes and procedures to discourage the spread of Covid‑19 while continuing to build products that people could enjoy in wide‑open marine environment,” Mercury president Chris Drees said in a statement. “We modified our sustainability practices to overcome unique challenges, and we upheld our responsibilities.”

Fond du Lac County remembers it vividly. The county was the hardest hit part of Northeast Wisconsin, at the onset of the pandemic. “We’ve experienced all of it, you know, just from like the first notification of our first cases Mar. 11,” Fond du Lac County public health officer Kim Mueller said. “At least my staff and myself, we won’t forget.” Mar. 11 – the day Fond du Lac County reported two positive cases, and the first in Northeast Wisconsin.
