The Gadsden Airport Authority will update the status of rendering plant litigation and schedule another meeting this one to hear proposals from potential buyers or leasers of the contested tract when it meets Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at The Venue.
The authority is involved in litigation related to Pilgrim Pride s expressed interest in buying or leasing about 88 acres of land owned by the GAA on Steele Station Road. Pilgrim s Pride wants to build a rendering plant to make animal food ingredients.
The GAA currently has two informal offers on the table to buy or lease the property. One is from Pilgrim s for construction of the rendering plant. The second is from a group that opposes the plant.

BOISE, Idaho â
Gov. Brad Little hasnât formally announced his re-election plans, but he is raising money like a candidate.
Little has received at least $44,500 in donations since June 16, including maximum donations from a prominent political power broker and his spouse.
On Tuesday, Little reported receiving $10,000 from Frank VanderSloot, the CEO of Idaho Falls-based Melaleuca Inc. and the stateâs richest person. VanderSloot is a perennial big-money campaign donor, contributing largely to Republicans.
Little received a matching $10,000 contribution from VanderSlootâs wife, Belinda.
Under state law, donors can contribute up to $10,000 to a candidate â $5,000 for a party primary, $5,000 for the general election.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) Eleven candidates have now filed paperwork with the state indicating they will run for Idaho governor in 2022, creating a crowded Republican primary.
The Idaho Press reports the Republican incumbent, Gov. Brad Little, hasn’t yet announced his reelection plans but is expected to run and has been fundraising.
Seven other Republicans, one Democrat and two unaffiliated candidates have filed to run far, some just quietly turning in the paperwork and others actively campaigning.
