Zenit holds on to sweep Efes
Zenit St Petersburg led all game long but needed to withstand a big Anadolu Efes Istanbul rally to win 85-78 on Thursday at Sibur Arena, completing a sweep in their head-to-head regular season series. With seven players scoring in double figures, Zenit registered its fifth win in the last six games, improving to a 13-6 record, while Efes dropped to 11-10 on the season. Zenit took control and led by double digits in the first quarter before knocking down 6 triples in the second to open a 23-point margin that was still 53-31 at halftime. But Efes rallied in the third quarter behind Vasilije Micic and quickly got within 59-53 to make it a game. The visitors would never got closer than 5 points the rest of the way, however, as Billy Baron and Kevin Pangos hit important three-pointers when Efes was dangerously close. Efes crushes Khimki, 99-60
Anadolu Efes Istanbul continued its climb up the standings by dominating last-place Khimki Moscow Region for a 99-60 home win on Thursday. With its third win in the last four games, Efes raised its record to 11-9 as it continues knocking at the door of the top eight playoff places. Khimki lost its 12th straight to drop to 2-18. Sertac Sanli came off the bench to lead Efes with a career-high 19 points, 17 of them in a second half that the hosts won by 47-24. Shane Larkin followed with 15 points, while Bugrahan Tuncer and Bryant Dunston scored 12 each. Khimki got 14 points from Jordan Mickey, 13 from Alexey Shved and 10 from Devin Booker.

Efes showed no mercy against ASVEL
Anadolu Efes Istanbul pulled out a valuable win at the Astroballe by beating LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne 80-102 on Friday night. The visitors started strong on a 7-18 opening run and amassed a 20-point halftime lead that was never jeopardized. Efes got its sixth win on the road this season to improve to 9-9, while ASVEL dropped to 5-12. The winners were paced by Vasilije Micic, who posted 23 points and 9 assists. James Anderson tallied a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Shane Larkin (16), Chris Singleton (16) and Bryant Dunston (14) also scored in double figures. Norris Cole recorded 22 points in 21 minutes for ASVEL, as Allerik Freeman and Charles Kahudi netted 11 points apiece on the losing side.
