Hertfordshire Constabulary has paid tribute to Clive Porter A police force has said its former officer who was murdered will be remembered as an “inspiration” in an emotional tribute. Clive Porter, 63, from Tring, served as an officer in the Meriden and Garston area in the 80s during his near 30-year career with Hertfordshire Constabulary. He was found with serious injuries on a towpath near the Grand Union Canal in Aylesbury on April 26 and died at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services. Chief Constable Charlie Hall, from Hertfordshire Constabulary, said Mr Porter was a “hugely respected and well-liked member of the team” and was known for his “calm nature and devotion to his family”.

As many as 1,347 persons tested positive for Covid, while 20 lost their lives to the virus in the district in the past 24 hours.
Total active cases have reached 10,316, while 1,451 have lost their lives since March 2020. Active cases in the district were 10,316.
Those who tested positive included four healthcare workers, two pre-operative cases and an undertrial, while tracing of 327 is still to be done.
As many as 16 men and four women lost their life to the deadly virus. They were residents of Jammu Colony, Jagraon, Lohara, Guru Nanak Nagar, Doraha, Sanhewal, Mahajan Nagar, Chandigarh Road, Barewal Road, Prem Vihar, Giaspura, Haibowal Kalan, Tajpur Road, Janta Nagar, Akash Nagar, Pama village, Vikas Nagar and Kailash Nagar.

Today, Domestic Policy Advisor Susan Rice, White House Public Engagement Director Cedric Richmond, Acting Director of the White House Initiative on AAPIs Laura Shin, and Domestic Policy Advisor to the Vice President Rohini Kosoglu hosted a virtual roundtable listening session with Asian American and Pacific Islander advocates and community leaders from across the country to discuss the increasing rates of anti-Asian harassment and violence. Participants shared their perspectives on the climate of fear that Asian American communities are facing. They also shared the important work they are doing across the country, recommendations for preventing and addressing violence against Asian American communities, and highlighted the coalition building that is happening across communities.

Twentyseven persons tested positive for Covid today while no death was reported for the second consecutive day. Now, there are 25,556 confirmed cases in the district while 992 have lost their lives so far.
Highest number of health workers vaccinated
Today, 2,405 healthcare workers were given the jab in the district. There were 32 session sites for the vaccination.
Civil Surgeon Sukhjeevan Kakkar said till date 9,653 healthcare workers had been administered the Covid-19 vaccination in the district, which was the highest number in any district of the state.
He said in the first phase, only healthcare workers of both government and private hospitals were being administered the vaccine. The vaccination was being done under the supervision of expert doctors and the person was observed for 30 minutes after its administration.
