By lunchtime, the city had come alive again with families and groups of friends flocking to beer gardens or outdoor cafes for delicious meals they didn’t have to cook and freshly poured pints. Graeme McNulty, of the Greyhound Inn in Wilton, had to turn a few people away, though the majority had booked their place and have already rebooked to come back, he says.
Graeme McNulty, of Greyhound Inn in Wilton “It was a bit hectic but the weather held off and we all enjoyed ourselves and the customers enjoyed themselves,” he said. “The atmosphere was great, it felt like we were in a foreign country. I think people needed to get out and relax after everything that’s happened.”

The Dorset pubs you can t wait to get back to after lockdown PUBS. We all have a favourite that we can’t wait to get back to when they reopen from Monday. It will be the first time this year we’ll be able to enjoy a pint at our local haunt and catch up with people outside our household. Yes it may only be outdoors for now but we’ll be keeping our fingers’ crossed for some dry weather. What makes a pub depends on many things whether it’s the beer on tap, the food, the regulars or simply somewhere we feel comfortable.
