A Greenville County head football coach/assistant athletic director and special education aid is accused of having a sexual encounter with a student, according to a Greer Police Department (GPD) report.
Erie Jarod Williams, 39, of Simpsonville, is charged with sexual battery with a 16-year-old, according to the GPD warrant. Williams was named Riverside head coach in April 2020. The incident is alleged to have happened in 2016 while Williams was employed at Greer High School.
Williams is accused of having the sexual encounter with a student in a bathroom of a classroom, according to the arrest warrant. Williams was arrested Tuesday night and charged with sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He has been released on bond.

Greer police said on April 17 they were contacted by the Greenville County School District about the case. Detectives began an investigation into the incident and were able to obtain warrants on Williams.He was arrested Tuesday night and charge with sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WYFF) - The Spartanburg County Coronerâs Office is investigating after a fetus was found left at the door of Pelham ER around 12:30 Saturday morning.
The Coronerâs Office and Greer Police Department are investigating, according to a release from the office.
The babyâs family has not yet been located or identified.
