Sudden cafe closure sends shockwaves through community

The sudden closure of one of Warwick’s most popular cafes has sent shockwaves through the business community, with the future of the prominent space in question. Owners Duanne and Janet Karle announced on Sunday via social media their cafe The Weeping Mulberry would be closing its doors that week, as Duanne would need to move away from Warwick to undergo treatment for an undisclosed illness. “After many discussions and copious tears, it is with a heavy heart we must close The Weeping Mulberry … as it is not sustainable for us to stay open,” the statement read. “On behalf of Duanne and myself, we would like to thank all our loyal customers for their love and support. We would appreciate your respect and value our privacy at this most difficult time.”

Threatened, intimidated and shunned parish councillor says she s had enough

PARISH council chairman Ginny Sherman has been verbally abused, subjected to threats and intimidation and has even been shunned in the street by fellow villagers. Now she’s stepping down at the next local elections in May after faithfully serving the village of Keevil for 22 years. She’s just had enough of the personal abuse she’s had to suffer from some villagers since being re-elected in May 2017. She’s been accused of being selfish, aggressive, unwilling to listen, incredibly irresponsible and has had her personal integrity called into question. “I’m not a person who cries but some of the abuse has certainly been hurtful and has made me very upset,” said Mrs Sherman.
