CU is set to compete at the Battle Born Collegiate Cross Country Challenge, Friday, February 19, at Craig Ranch Regional Park in Las Vegas. USA Track & Field is hosting the event, which has brought in some of the top teams in the nation. There are eight races, split into four colors, with two per gender.
The Buffaloes will race in the yellow and green races, which allows both the varsity and emerging varsity teams to compete. In the men s yellow race, CU will compete against Northern Arizona, Stanford, Southern Utah, Notre Dame, Colorado State, Utah State and Iowa State. The women s field includes Stanford, Northern Arizona, Washington, New Mexico, Utah State, Boise State and Utah.

NCAA Division I Cross Country National Coaches’ Polls descended on the Craig Ranch Regional Park in North Las Vegas today for the Silver State Collegiate Cross Country Challenge.
BYU completed the sweep as the second-ranked men and third-ranked women took home team titles.

Northern Arizona put on a racing clinic on Monday.
The top-2 teams in the most recent National Coaches’ Polls battled toe-to-toe over the 8K course at the Craig Ranch Regional Park in North Las Vegas. When the dust settled in the City of Lights, the two teams combined for seven of the top-10 finishers and the second-ranked Cougars pulled out a five-point win thanks to putting four of their runners in the aforementioned top-10.

Believe it or not, we’re exactly six weeks away from the NCAA Cross Country Championships. If this were a normal cross country season, it would be October 10 right now a week before the Wisconsin/Pre-Nats Invites.
Things are starting to get serious. On Saturday, the Wisconsin men and Michigan State women won the Big 10 XC championships. And today, we saw a clash of college XC’s men’s superpowers as #2 BYU took down #1 NAU (and #4 Notre Dame), 49-54, to win the Silver State Collegiate Challenge in Las Vegas. Individually, last year’s NCAA 3rd-placer
Boise State are sure to factor in as
well.
Many of those teams made the most of their racing
opportunities during the fall segment: NAU won the OSU Invitational over
Oklahoma State and BYU; Notre Dame went undefeated in two competitions – one being
a 14-point win at the ACC Championships; Weber State nearly took down BYU in a
dual meet (The Wildcats lost by one point); Neither the Mountain West nor the
Pac-12 allowed competition in the fall, so this will be a debut for the
remaining three programs.
