WESTFORD A former Westford man is facing federal child pornography charges, and has been ousted from a white supremacist group.
The Associated Press reports that Andrew Hazelton, 28, now of Portland, Maine, is being held in a New Hampshire jail on a federal charge of allegedly possessing child pornography.
The Nationalist Social Club, a white nationalist extremist organization, named and expelled Hazelton in a social media post, vowing more thorough background checks, the Portland Press Herald reported.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) A Portland man who is currently in custody on child pornography charges has been publicly expelled from the National Socialist Club, a white nationalist extremist group.
Andrew Hazelton was named and expelled on social media this week and the group said more thorough background checks would be instituted in the future, the Portland Press Herald reported.
Hazelton, 28, is being held in a New Hampshire jail on a federal charge of possessing child pornography.

A Portland business owner who feared that an employee would commit a workplace shooting called the FBI last month after receiving an anonymous tip suggesting that the worker was part of a white nationalist group and that he was preparing for the collapse of society by buying guns and survival gear.
Now the former employee, Andrew Hazelton, 28, is facing a federal criminal charge of possessing child pornography, a case that appears to be an unintended result of the employer’s report and the investigation that followed. Hazelton was ordered held without bail during a detention hearing Wednesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge John H. Rich III.
