BIRMINGHAM, England - Pakistan skipper Babar Azam s stunning knock of 158 was in vain as England s second string side completed a record run chase at Edgbaston to win by three wickets on Tuesday and clinch the three-match one-day international series 3-0.
Set a target of 332 for victory, James Vince smashed 11 boundaries en route to his maiden ODI century (102) which helped guide England home with two overs to spare as a sloppy Pakistan dropped catches and conceded runs through several misfields.
The Proteas had never lost an ODI to Ireland and now must win on Friday (Saturday NZT) to avoid a series defeat. The first match of the series ended in a no-result after persistent rain on Sunday. Opener Janneman Malan scored 84 to lead South Africa and Rassie van der Dussen added 49 before the Irish bowlers found their rhythm as the Proteas fell to 247 all out.

Birmingham [UK], July 14 (ANI): England won the three-match ICC Men s Cricket World Cup Super League ODI series against Pakistan 3-0 by recording a three-wicket win in the third and final match which turned out to be a high scoring thriller at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Tuesday.
Sent out to bat, Pakistan finished with what looked like a competitive total of 331/9 thanks to Babar Azam s career-best 158 and fifties from Imam-ul-Haq (56) and Mohammad Rizwan (74).
Unfortunately for the visitors, it did not prove enough as England chased down the target with two overs and three wickets to spare, courtesy of a maiden ODI ton from James Vince and an impressive 77 from Lewis Gregory.
