Ontario reported 287 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, down from the 346 reported in the province the day before. There were 12 additional deaths.
Waterloo Region was the worst hot spot with 66 new cases reported, followed by Toronto with 42, 38 in Grey Bruce, 26 in Peel and 16 in the Porcupine Health Unit in northern Ontario near Timmins.
There were more than 18,500 tests completed and more than 202,000 COVID-19 vaccinations administered on Saturday, according to Health Minister Christine Elliott. Ontario has now administered more than 14 million doses, Elliott tweeted.
There have been 544,204 cases of COVID-19 in Ontario since the pandemic began and 9,126 deaths. There are 289 COVID-19 patients in intensive care, of which 191 are on ventilators.
