In observance of Memorial Day, the American Airpower Museum (AAM) in Farmingdale, New York, will continue their historic participation in the Bethpage Air Show, flying their magnificent aircraft over Jones Beach on Saturday, May 29 th and Sunday, May 30 th. The museum’s press release notes… AAM’s fleet of iconic, meticulously restored military aircraft currently scheduled to take part will include a B-25 Mitchell, Douglas C-47 Skytrain, Grumman TBM Avenger, Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, P-51D Mustang, AT-6 Texan and AT-28-D5 Nomad.

The optimism index gained 4.8 points over the last four months as the economy continues its pandemic recovery. NFIB said government policies, stimulus checks and business aid explain the recent “surge” in GDP growth and jobs recovered – a total of 12 million out of the 20 million lost, so far. The NFIB said, however, the labor shortage undermines the ongoing recovery. It’s the number one issue facing small businesses, according to Pennsylvania State Director Greg Moreland.

Commonwealth Media Services Pennsylvania’s minimum wage has rested at $7.25 an hour since 2009, when the last of a series of federal increases kicked in. Since that time, state officials have fielded many calls to raise the state’s minimum wage, but the rate has remained the same. Gov. Tom Wolf has been one of the loudest advocates in the state for raising the wage, repeatedly calling for state lawmakers to increase the minimum wage immediately to $12 an hour, with yearly, phased-in increases to $15.  The closest Wolf came to increasing the state’s $7.25 minimum wage was in 2019, when he and Senate Republican leaders agreed to raise it to $9.50 in exchange for Wolf dropping a plan to expand overtime eligibility for salaried employees. That proposal, however, was opposed by House Republicans and ultimately died in committee, never becoming law. That hasn’t stopped Wolf and lawma
