Another person has filed for a seat on the Teutopolis Board of Education in the April 2021 election.
Toby McMahon has filed for a seat. McMahon is seeking election to a two-year unexpired term.
The filing period for the April election continues through Monday.

The City of Effingham Convention and Visitors Bureau said Friday more than 700 votes were received in this year s Holiday Lights and Festive Sights contest.
The winners were announced Friday afternoon in the 7th annual competition.
The winners are:

THE HALLMARK HOUSE AWARD The Weber Family at 1305 Cliffview Drive
THE SPIRIT OF EFFINGHAM BUSINESS AWARD SDS Technology, which donated their $250 prize to Effingham County FISH Human Services, which they will match with their own donation.

HSHS St. Anthony s Memorial Hospital President and CEO Theresa Rutherford, RN, MSN, MBA, FACHE, is leaving that post to become the next president and chief executive officer of HSHS St. Mary s Hospital in Decatur. She will start her service January 3, 2021.

Rutherford has served as president and CEO at St. Anthony s since 2013. Rutherford, though, is no stranger to St. Mary’s Hospital. Prior to her service at St. Anthony’s, she was the chief operating officer (COO) at St. Mary’s from 2006 to 2013. During her time as COO, she took on a dual role as chief nursing executive until a chief nursing officer was hired. Rutherford’s history with St. Mary’s goes even further. She began her career with St. Mary’s in 1979 as an LPN.

The Effingham County Health Department Thursday announced the COVID-related deaths of a woman in her 60s and a woman in her 70s.
The Health Department also announced 26 new positive test results.
Here are the demographics:
MALE one teen, three in their 20s, three in their 30s, one in his 40s, one in his 50s, one in his 60s, and one in his 80s.
FEMALE one less than 10 years old, three teens, one in her 20s, one in her 30s, four in their 40s, three in their 50s, and two in their 60s.
