An elementary school principal in the Hilton school district is accused of sexually abusing nine victims, all of them students.
Kirk Ashton faces six counts of first-degree sexual abuse and five counts of second-degree course of sexual conduct, each felonies, and nine counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
Prosecutors say the victims, all boys, were between the ages of 9 and 12. The abuse could go back decades, they said.
The principal at Northwood Elementary School, 433 N. Greece Road, was arraigned in Greece Town Court Wednesday night. Greece Town Justice Vincent Campbell set bail at $500,000 cash or $1 million bond. Ashton s preliminary hearing is set for 3 p.m. April 20.

According to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, Northwood Elementary School principal Kirk Ashton was arraigned Wednesday night in Greece Town Court. New York State Police said the felony charges include six counts of first-degree sexual abuse, five counts of second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child and nine counts of endangering the welfare of a child. State Police said there are nine victims, all boys. The current allegations date back to 2017, and all the incidents happened at the school. The victims are between 8 and 12 years old.
A man is in critical condition after being shot late Wednesday night at a Greece apartment complex.
Officers from the Greece Police Department responded to the area of 190 Milford Street in the Greece Commons complex around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday for a report of shots fired.
There they found a man, who has not been identified, with a single gunshot wound to his upper body. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and is in critical condition, said Greece Police Sgt. Jared Rene.
The man was sitting in a car in a complex parking lot at the time of the shooting, Rene said.

GREECE, N.Y. Police say a man suffered critical injuries when he was shot in Greece.
It happened around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Greece Commons Apartments near Mt. Read Boulevard and West Ridge Road.
Greece police say when they responded, they found a man in his 20s shot inside a car. He was taken to the hospital with what police say are life-threatening injuries. Police say multiple shots were fired, with those rounds striking buildings, cars and other objects.
