Ned Lamont has activated the severe cold weather protocol for the first time this season. Westchester Woman Charged After Incident At Fairfield County Restaurant

A Westchester woman was charged after getting into a dispute at a Fairfield County restaurant. Sarah Ann Westerman, 30, of Port Chester, was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 12, for an incident that took place in November at a Greenwich Avenue restaurant, said the Greenwich Police. According to police, a person came to the Greenwich Police Department to report an incident that occurred at the restaurant, which the police would not name. An investigation found that two people got into a verbal altercation, which turned physical, police said.  Police said Westerman was the aggressor, and a warrant was issued for her arrest. She was taken into custody without incident and charged with breach of peace, police said.

Selectmen Approve Temporary Valet Parking On Greenwich Avenue

As it stands now, the proposal calls for two valet stations on the avenue just to provide an additional option for a busy holiday season, Dent said during the meeting, when every realtor knows it can be difficult to get a [parking] spot on the avenue. Crew, and the second would be located in front of the Greenwich Arts Council near Havemeyer Place, Dent said.

Stephen Meskers (D-150) and Harry Arora (R-151), as well as First Selectman Fred Camillo, gathered virtually for the annual Greenwich United Way Legislative Breakfast to discuss topics related to the state and local level. State Sen. Alex Kasser (D-36) could not attend because of a scheduling conflict. The COVID-19 pandemic dominated the hour-long dialogue, as it’s the most pressing issue. The delegation agreed that containing the virus is priority number one heading into the next legislative session. “We’re in a crisis,” said Arora, who would like to see increased testing among the population. “I’m not going to say anything other than the fact that the first thing is to contain COVID. No COVID containment, no policy relevance.”
