CHARLEMONT The next Charlemont Forum, scheduled for July 22, at 7 p.m., aims to address ethical flaws and shortcomings within the local news media climate.
This free event, which is supported by funding from various cultural councils, will be the second one held by the organization this summer, according to a press release from Charlemont Forum media representative Mary Ann Adams. Delivered via Zoom, the forum seeks to reimagine and reinvigorate local journalism through a revitalization of journalism ethics.
Event facilitator Jessica González is a Georgetown Law School graduate, former Harvard Law School fellow, and co-CEO of Free Press, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit advocating for net neutrality, affordable internet access, quality journalism and greater inclusion of people of color in the media. GREENFIELD After a visit of Greenfield schools and a meet-and-greet with staff and families, Dr. Christine DeBarge met with the Greenfield School Committee on Tuesday to be interviewed for the superintendent position.
