Today s Flashpoint: Marjorie Taylor Greene

In November, the previously unknown Marjorie Taylor Greene was elected to Georgia s open 14th Congressional District seat in a landslide. Now, after being in office less than a month, she is the object of a hate campaign by the Democrats, who are demanding that she be stripped of all committee assignments, and preferably kicked out of the House. It is reported that the Democrats press arm is trying to make

Marjorie Greene draws ire on right as Republican Jewish Coalition condemns antisemitic comments

The rebukes over alleged anti-Semitism could well trigger a chain reaction in the Republican Party. The party prides itself on its unwavering support for Israel, a unifying issue for the GOP as it prepares to defend former President Donald Trump’s historic pro-Jerusalem initiatives. The coalition said it supported Republican John Cowan against Ms. Greene in the 2020 primary race, marking only the second time the coalition has gotten involved in a contest at the primary level, based on her “video diatribes” and “bizarre political conspiracy theories.” “The RJC has never supported or endorsed Marjorie Taylor Greene,” the coalition said. “We are offended and appalled by her comments and her actions. We opposed her as a candidate and we continue to oppose her now. She is far outside the mainstream of the Republican Party, and the RJC is working closely with the House Republican leadership regarding next steps in this matter.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene: Republicans face quandary over her remarks

WASHINGTON – Congressional Republicans have a real dilemma on their hands: What to do about Marjorie Taylor Greene. Less than a month after being sworn into office, the ultra-right, conspiracy-spouting congresswoman from northwest Georgia has turned what should have been a GOP celebration over congressional gains in the Nov. 3 election into how to address the unapologetically outspoken freshman s past controversial remarks. Do they formally reprimand her or strip her of committee assignments – as they did two years ago with Steve King of Iowa after he made comments about white nationalism. Or do they continue to stay silent on the controversy – hoping it dies down. Either choice risks alienating parts of their caucus.
