The Minnesota Vikings have traded former first-round pick Mike Hughes to the Kansas City Chiefs for a late-round pick swap next year, according to ESPN s Adam Schefter. The Chiefs get Hughes the No. 30 overall pick out of UCF in 2018 and a seventh-rounder in 2022, and the Vikings get Kansas City s sixth-rounder in 2022.
There were high hopes for Hughes when the Vikings took him in the first round three years ago, but the cornerback and return man s career has been derailed by injuries. He tore his ACL after six games as a rookie and has dealt with multiple neck issues over the past couple years. In total, Hughes has played in just 24 of a possible 50 games (including playoffs) in three seasons. He has 13 passes defended, two interceptions, and three forced
PLAYING for Feyenoord, one of the biggest, best-supported and most successful clubs in the Netherlands, against the likes of Ajax and PSV Eindhoven in the ultra-competitive Eredivisie for two-and-a-half years prepared Thomas Buffel for the demands of representing Rangers. Coming on for the Rotterdam giants in the European Super Cup final against Real Madrid, Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo, Raul, Zindedine Zidane et al, in 2002 also meant that he was far from overawed when he moved to Glasgow. The Belgian internationalist made an immediate impact in Scotland after arriving midway through the 2004/05 season in a £2.3m transfer; he helped the Ibrox outfit to do a double within a matter of months.

Newcastle closing on Celtic star slammed after Ibrox display
Date published: Monday 3rd May 2021 10:54 - Neil Foster
Reports claim Newcastle United have ramped up their interest in Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer and sent scouts to watch him during Sunday’s Old Firm clash at Ibrox.
The Magpies were initially linked with the 23-year-old back in March. And words from Norway manager Stale Solbakken appeared to give hope that he would be available this summer.
“He has to change league now,” he said back in March. “He must. Ajer does not have enough challenges in everyday life there.”
The towering centre-half certainly had many challenges at the weekend as the Hoops went down 4-1 to Rangers. It left Celtic 23 points adrift of the Gers who are still on track to complete an unbeaten Scottish Premiership season.
Andy Walker s Sky Sports absence revealed as ex-Celtic striker hit with Ibrox ban Reports this morning have suggested that Sky Sports pundit Andy Walker has been banned from Ibrox. The ex-Celtic striker was absent from coverage of yesterday s Old Firm derby and it has now been claimed that there has been a row over comments he made regarding the Gers finances. The Daily Mail say the Light Blues are demanding an apology from Walker before allowing him back into Ibrox. Commentator Ian Crocker was yesterday joined by Ally McCoist and James McFadden, while former Gers striker Kris Boyd was in the studio alongside Eilidh Barbour and Stiliyan Petrov.
