A former Grimsby postmaster and her husband have finally had their names cleared after dozens like them were wrongly sacked or convicted of theft, fraud and false accounting.
Gillian Blakey ran the Cleethorpe Road post office for eight years before a computer fault led to Mrs Blakey’s sacking and a criminal conviction for her husband, David.
But, in what is one of the biggest overturning of convictions in UK legal history, the conviction of Mr Blakey and 38 subpostmasters, have been quashed by the Court of Appeal.
