Ardent Leisure unveils plans to build $75M Dreamworld Resort at its Gold Coast theme park Travel by Kathleen Skene Premium Content Subscriber only ARDENT Leisure has unveiled a $75 million plan for a new hotel and tourist park - Dreamworld Resort. In an announcement to the ASX this morning, the theme parks operator said it had appointed accommodation developer Evolution Group to fund and build an accommodation precinct on part of the surplus land owned by Ardent next to the Dreamworld park. The accommodation offering will include a 4-star 250 room resort-style hotel, 40 bungalows and a 5-star tourist park with 100 powered sites.

The hire comes as Iconic has made deals with theater chains representing over 1,000 locations to add them to their network. Founded last year by former Cinemark CEO Tim Warner and former Village Roadshow co-chairman Michael Lambert, Iconic is looking to become a competitor in a space long dominated by Fathom Events, and which is becoming more popular with movie theaters trying to find as many revenue streams as possible to make up for a year’s worth of lost profit thanks to COVID-19.

The Former Senator representing Bayelsa East Constituency, in a video on Thursday, said the partnership will provide Africans with the opportunity to showcase the rich African talents to the world. According to him, “this man controls a multi-billion naira budget and he wants to help Africa. The next superstar is going to come from Africa and this man(Steve Mosko) is going to make it happen and an African will win an Oscar.”
