CALUMET Kevin Weir, recently re-appointed to the village clerk position, submitted his resignation to the village council Friday, citing a number of reasons, including a lack of communication between government officials, which he said, is not new. He also cited the village council’s ongoing avoidance of following its own procedures, something he had addressed to the council in November 2019.
In an email to council members and Village Manager, Caleb Katz, Weir wrote that after the regular February meeting last Tuesday, stating that the the Clerk’s Report had not been included in board packet for the January regular meeting, nor was space arranged for a verbal report for the February meeting.

QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Village Council approved the renewal of Village Manager Brittany Butler’s contract for one year on Tuesday night.
The contract runs from February 1 of this year until January 31, 2022. Butler’s salary for the next year will be determine during the upcoming budget negotiations.
Terms of the contract include evaluations of Butler’s performance as Village Manager at or around the three, six and 12 month anniversary dates of the contract.
Unless she expressly requests in writing to the Village Council, the evaluations would be conducted in executive sessions and shall be considered confidential to the extent permitted by law.

With the field of Key Biscayne Village Manager candidates down to five finalists, all from South Florida, Islander News asked each candidate questions in which they detail the qualities and experience they would bring to the position if chosen by the Key Biscayne Village Council.
Next in the process is a series of interviews and evaluations, including psychological aptitude tests, that the council wants completed before narrowing down the list. The finalists are expected to appear for video or in-person interviews with the full council in March. The session is expected to be available for the public to watch.
