It appears that cops in Middle Township have had their hands full recently, including a case of a person being shot with a nail gun, another whacked with a 2X4, and another case of a man being chased by a car full of people. All told, two people have been charged with attempted murder and four others are facing aggravated assault and other charges. In the first case, Middle Township cops responded to Cape Regional Medical Center on Thursday, April 15th, after they received word that a man had been shot in the chest with a nail gun. The victim, 58-year-old Thomas Stansbury of Villas, was later taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City for further treatment.

N.J. man faces attempted murder charge after attack using two-by-four, cops say Updated Apr 30, 2021; A 19-year-old Cape May County resident was charged with attempted murder for hitting a man with a wooden two-by-four after an argument at a shopping complex in Middle Township, police said Friday. Michael Rugg was also charged with aggravated assault, weapons offenses, terroristic threats and resisting arrest in the attack Saturday, according to Middle Township police. Rugg was involved in a verbal argument with a 49-year-old man at the Village Shoppes in the township’s Rio Grande-section, police said. He then hit the Rio Grande man with the two-by-four, which had a nail sticking out from the end, a department news release said.
