Newton at Home turns 10: Nonprofit helps people age in their homes Alex Vogel and Arthur Glasgow In our first 10 years, volunteers for Newton at Home answered 23,315 requests for services that helped our members continue to live in their homes as they age.  Our nonprofit organization gave 8,000 rides to doctors’ offices and other appointments. We helped bring 4,200 trash barrels to the curb, and held more than 2,000 program events. Perhaps most importantly, we provided a constant stream of home support visits and phone conversations. Even those impressive numbers still don’t capture the impact that Newton at Home volunteers and staff have had for our members. Behind each of these data points are the faces of Newton residents who have found it that much easier to stay in their homes, not to mention those of their families who breathe easier knowing that this support is at hand.
