WELLINGTON, Fla. FCC Environmental Services was awarded a contract to commence service for the Village of Wellington by year-end for municipal solid waste, recycling, and commercial waste collections for 10 years, with a potential 5-year extension.
The Village Council members unanimously approved the contract during a recent May 11 board meeting. The total backlog of the contract with the extension is worth about $135 million.
FCC Environmental Services will operate the contract from its yard in nearby Boynton Beach with an additional 17-truck fleet. The southeast Florida community of Wellington resides in Palm Beach County.
“We’ll now be serving well over 1 million Floridians,” said CEO Inigo Sanz. “Wellington joins a growing list of nine FCC Environmental Service municipal contracts in Florida, including services in Orange, Polk, and Volusia Counties.”
