The collision occurred about 11:15 a.m. near milepost 67. Police suspect poor visibility from rain and fog was a factor in the crash, but state police are continuing to investigate. All three vehicles were headed southbound.
Denise Watts, who was driving a Toyota Sienna, did not survive her injuries, police said.
Rural Metro Fire and Knox County Rescue responded to calls about a car crash around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and found a minivan leaning against a power pole.
