Biden had promised $2,000 checks in the days leading up to the Georgia Senate runoffs, but the plan he unveiled after his inauguration called for $1,400 checks. That s what made it into the stimulus Congress sent to his desk.
Biden said the total will add up to $2,000 a person after people received $600 checks as part of the $900 billion stimulus package President Donald Trump signed into law in December.
People making more than $80,000 a year for an individual or $160,000 a year for a couple won t get checks. People s income will be measured according to their most recent tax filing.
The checks are popular with the public and were started as part of the $2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Trump signed into law in March. In that package, most people received $1,200 direct payments.

CARSON CITY KTNV) â Today, Gov. Steve Sisolak announced a new $2.5 million H-1B Rural Healthcare Grant awarded to the state of Nevada that aims to strengthen the stateâs efforts in developing the healthcare workforce through job placing programs in northern and rural communities.
âI am glad to see that the Governorâs Office of Workforce Innovation has been awarded a $2.5 million H-1B Rural Healthcare Grant, said Sisolak. âThis is needed now more than ever and thanks to their efforts in securing this grant, our State will be better equipped to develop & train our healthcare workforce in our northern & rural communities.â

PIERRE, S.D. – On Monday, Governor Kristi Noem introduced legislation she says will empower South Dakota consumers by providing them transparent healthcare costs.
“We know that healthcare can be expensive. We can make this burden a little lighter for consumers by giving them transparent information about the cost of healthcare services,” said Governor Noem. “By empowering consumers with the knowledge of the actual cost for planned procedures, we can give them the tools they need to plan their future finances.”
According to Noem’s office, her legislation:
