THE Mayor of the City and County of Limerick has welcomed the allocation of over €400,000 for repairs and improvement works on non-public roads in rural co.

With the shadow of the Covid-19 pandemic and what can be achieved through remote working, the Our Rural Future plan aims to incentivize more people to stay in or move to non-urban areas.
The plan commits to providing financial support for local authorities to turn vacant properties in towns into remote working hubs.
This includes a plan for over 400 remote working facilities across the country.

Over €600,000 has been awarded for improvement and repair works on local roads this year.
€346,394 will go towards works on roads across Co. Meath this year, with €270,000 for roads across Co. Louth in 2021.
It s part of the €10.5 million announced today through the Government s ‘Our Rural Future’ project, which is a 5% increase on last year s funding.
Over €68 million has now been invested under the Local Improvement Scheme since it was re-introduced in 2017.

The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, has today (Thursday, 13th May) announced almost â¬1.1 million to support a range of capital works on our offshore islands.
Funding has been approved for Cork, Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Donegal County Councils as follows:
