Suunto has launched a new premium sports watch, the Suunto 9 Peak, which is its thinnest and lightest device to date.
There’s been a growing interest in smaller, lighter fitness watches over recent years. Garmin, for example, has created compact S versions of its most popular running watches (including the new Garmin Venu 2), and the recently released Polar Ignite 2 packs serious training tools into a super slim case.

The Suunto 9 Peak continues this trend, and is 37% thinner and 36% lighter than its predecessor, the Suunto 9 Baro. By our calculations should make it around 10.6mm thick and 51.8g, though at the time of writing the official specs have yet to be released.

Garmin Venu 2 vs. Vivoactive 4: Lots of similarities
If you re trying to find the best Android smartwatch, you ll meet many options. Several brands are competing for this title, including the Garmin Venu 2 and Vivoactive 4. These watches may share many similarities when it comes to basic health and activity tracking, but it s the differences that will affect your decision.
If you want the newest model with all the latest features, the Garmin Venu 2 will deliver the experience you re looking for. Those who would rather save some money and don t mind a few missing features will likely prefer the Garmin Vivoacative 4. At the end of the day, both are great watches that offer an excellent wearable with solid fitness tracking.
Garmin Venu 2 vs. 2S: Does size matter?
Finding the best Android smartwatch depends on a few factors. In many cases, size will play a part in your decision, like choosing between the new Garmin Venu 2 and 2S, for example. The company is introducing an assortment of new features that can be found on both models. The only difference to be concerned about is the size. The Venu 2 comes in a 45mm case, while the Venu 2S comes in a smaller 40mm case.
When the original Garmin Venu was released nearly two years ago, it was only available in one size: 43mm. However, it s not unlike Garmin to release a smartwatch that comes in two sizes. One example is the Garmin Vivoactive 4, which also offered the 40mm and 45mm variants. There are plenty of new features to cover when it comes to the Garmin Venu 2 and 2S. Fortunately, both models offer the same features. Therefore, your decision will come down to your size preference.
Garmin Venu 2 review: A worthy sequel
Reviews3 hours ago Crisp AMOLED display Excellent GPS accuracy Uneven heart rate sensor data High price tag
Bottom Line
The Garmin Venu 2 is a well-rounded, feature-packed multisport smartwatch. It s a big improvement over the original Venu, and Garmin seems to be taking its smartwatch software seriously. It s pricey, but I wouldn t hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for an Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch alternative.
