Weapons-related charges reported over holiday weekend

EDWARDSVILLE Four people were charged with weapons-related felonies in Alton over the Independence Day weekend.
Sedarius D. Miles, 26, of Dallas, was charged July 6 with unlawful possession of weapons by a felon, a Class 3 felony, and aggravated unlawful use of weapons and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, both Class 4 felonies.
According to court documents, on July 3 Miles allegedly was found to be in possession of a loaded and accessible 9 mm Smith & Wesson. It was noted Miles has a felony conviction for assault of a family out of Tarrant County, Texas in 2017, making him ineligible to possess weapons.
