With the Broward and Palm Beach school districts halting virtual schooling by traditional classroom teachers next year, there are still a few options for parents who want their kids to continue learning from home. These include Palm Beach Virtual School, Broward Virtual School, Florida Virtual School and Miami-Dade Online Academy.

Last spring, high schools got creative for the class of 2020’s graduation ceremonies.
Families gathered in their cars and lined the track of the Gainesville Raceway instead of sitting in an auditorium. Cameras surrounded the stage to capture a live stream for those who could not attend. Graduating seniors walked across the stage as their names blasted through the loudspeakers, then they went back into their cars.
The local TV station, CBS-4, aired primetime events dedicated to all the graduating high school seniors of Class of 2020. Each high school in Alachua County had its own half-hour segment filled with speeches, musical performances and graduation photos. The Gainesville Sun also published a commemorative spread that included students’ pictures along with their names.

Robert Hernandez is a chemistry teacher at Seabreeze High School. Like other teachers, Hernandez was looking for a way to help take his students minds off the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. He s already completed some small projects, such as making a special temporary tattoo for his classes, but there was one particular project he was excited about. Hernandez told News Daytona Beach during an interview that he always wanted to make video games. After learning how through a program called GameMaker, Hernandez was able to bring his latest project to life, a video game about destroying COVID-19. The game is called Seabreeze High School COVID Clean. In the game, players control the Spunky Doctor Teresa as she battles COVID-19 viruses throughout a school
