Weekly COVID-19 Media Briefing: County Executive Marc Elrich, County Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles and Emergency Management Director Dr. Earl Stoddard will hold their weekly media briefing at 12:30 p.m. You can watch live on MCM channels 21 and 995 (HD) and on Facebook and County Cable Montgomery.

Takoma Park Police Animal Shelter Drive: Takoma Park Police will be accepting sheets, towels, and bath rugs for Montgomery County Animal Shelters until Jan. 29. Police ask residents not to donate items with zippers or snaps, fabrics with rips or frayed edges or fitted sheets. Click here for more information.

COVID-19 Testing: Free COVID-19 testing is available throughout the county at seven testing sites today. The schedule of clinics may be found here.

Manna Food Distribution: Manna will distribute weekend food bags at 10 locations today from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. instead of Friday this week. Manna says all county children and families are welcome.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Letter Contest Deadline: Today is the deadline for county high school students to submit a letter to the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Letter Contest. Four students will be chosen to read and record their letters for the the county’s virtual MLK Memorial event on Jan. 18, 2021.
