We have saturated the independent market, supplying to around 500 shops nationwide, and so to expand we really need to get into supermarkets like Waitrose and Sainsbury s. When we first started out, we were unchallenged but there are more vegan pizzas out there now but we still think we have a premium product. The future is indeed plant-based.

Mike Hill, who used to run the River Green cafe, in Trowse, saw the potential for the product back in 2016. The pizzas use special Applewood vegan cheese which melts well as well as recyclable packaging and vegetable derived ink for printing.

St. Stephen’s Church was a popular choice for LEGO® builders in the first annual contest sponsored by the Ridgefield Historical Society. This one won the Mixed Age Group Category for Team Zides.
The Ridgefield Historical Society has announced the winners of its first annual LEGO® Sculpture Contest: St. Stephen’s Church was the top subject in two of three categories, with the third featuring Lounsbury House.
Builders could choose among 13 Ridgefield landmarks for their subjects; the structures they created will be at Ridgefield Town Hall in the front lobby exhibit cases Feb. 5 through March 31.
Dave s Planet Pizza, volunteers deliver holiday meals to families in need

A Connecticut restaurant owner and his customers are working together to hand out dozens of holiday meals this year.
Dave s Planet Pizza received $2,700 in donations to help feed 40 families from Fox Run School for Christmas Eve dinner.
The Norwalk restaurant delivered roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, salad and more to the families.
Dave s Planet Pizza s manager, Lucas Rodriguez, says he is thankful that so many people in the community helped out. We raise money together so we can feed the families in need, Rodriguez says. So we got 40 meals we re all busy and we re working together.

NORWALK On the average day, Planet Pizza on Main Avenue has three or four delivery drivers per shift, but on Thursday owner Dave Kuban had 10 drivers on the job as the restaurant faced an influx in orders due to the snowstorm.
It’s a scenario many businesses are used to after experiencing an uptick in delivery orders since the coronavirus forced limitations on dine-in options for customers this year. But even by pandemic standards, Kuban was impressed with the demand.
