NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Dickson County woman is charged with TennCare fraud and theft of services for allegedly falsely reporting that she had custody of her son in order to obtain TennCare benefits for herself. The Office of Inspector General (OIG), in a joint effort with the , today announced the arrest of 31-year old Megan Hood of Dickson. Both charges against her are class D felonies. Investigators allege that Hood falsely reported that she had custody of her son in order to receive TennCare benefits for herself. As a result, the state says TennCare paid more than $9,000 in fees and claims on her behalf.

A Marion County woman is charged with TennCare fraud in a case involving prescription drugs.
The Office of Inspector General, in a joint effort with the 12th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Marion County Sheriff’s office today announced the arrest of 50-year old Patricia Hargis of South Pittsburg. She is charged with one count of TennCare fraud, a class D felony. The case is being prosecuted by District Attorney General Mike Taylor of Marion County.
Investigators allege that Ms. Hargis knowingly used TennCare benefits to obtain a prescription for 84 tablets of Oxycodone, then selling a portion of the pills. TennCare paid for both the doctor’s visit and the prescription.
