HP hires Sarabjit Baveja as chief strategy, incubation officer

San Francisco, Jan 20 : PC and printer major HP Inc has appointed Sarabjit Singh Baveja as Chief Strategy and Incubation Officer who will lead the strategy, corporate development and new business incubation efforts focused on driving new sources of growth and long-term value creation.
Baveja, who joins HP from Bain & Company, will work closely with the executive leadership team to identify, develop and launch new products, services and business models across the company s portfolio.
This includes a focus on leveraging HP s micro-fluidics technology to create disruptive new businesses and applications in the health and wellness space, HP Inc said in a statement late on Tuesday.
HP announced that former Xerox executive Tolga Kurtoglu has joined as its new CTO, while Sarabjit Singh Baveja has been named chief strategy officer and chief legal officer Kim Rivera has departed.

Lab’s ACT-UP awards focus on collaborative research

With a focus on increasing joint research efforts between Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and universities, the Lab’s Weapon Physics and Design (WPD) Academic Collaboration Team (ACT) University Program has awarded this year’s ACT-UP awards.
Now in its second year, the ACT-UP awards were created to encourage and advance strategic partnerships among universities with a focus on the Lab’s mission. The awards emphasize key outcomes including innovation and basic science to establish long-term relations on target topics with target universities; products comprising of data, methods and technology where the Lab taps into university rela
