Ashland County DARE essay winner is Reed Mager of Hillsdale

Hillsdale fifth-grade students, along with Black River and Mapleton sixth-graders, have participated in the 10-lesson DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program for this school year.
To successfully pass DARE, the students wrote an essay on what they learned in the program and how the lessons will affect the rest of their lives.
The essay is not only a requirement, but also a competition.
This year’s Ashland County DARE essay winner is Reed Mager of Hillsdale, the son of Dan and Kim Mager. He was awarded a DARE medallion and other prizes. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends; hunting and fishing with his father; and playing football, baseball and wrestling.
