James Corden is responding to backlash surrounding one of his show’s popular segments, which has been accused of mocking Asian foods.
“The Late Late Show” host confirmed he will be adjusting the ”Spill Your Guts” segment in which celebrities are forced to choose between answering a tough question and eating something “unusual” following a Change.org petition calling to remove the bit.
The petition, created by TikTok user Kim Saira, garnered over 45,000 signatures and said food Corden used, like chicken feet or a fertilized egg dish known as
balut, are not “disgusting foods” and are “regularly eaten by Asian people.”

A Change.org petition started by Kim Saira is asking for Corden to end the controversial segment.
During an interview with Howard Stern, Corden revealed he plans to make some changes to the segment. We heard and the next time we do that bit we absolutely won t use any of those foods, the British TV personality said. Our show is a show about joy and light and love. We don t want to make a show that will upset anybody.

Late Late Show, is promising to update one of his TV show bits after activists claimed that the segment is grounded in racism.
Calling it “Spill Your Guts,” James Corden has featured the bit for several seasons where guests are given the choice to answer a personal question or have to eat something “gross.”
Corden, though, has taken criticism over his choice of “gross” foods. Many of them have tended to be Asan cuisine, and a Change.org petition is taking him to task over the bit, according to Deadline.
A recent TikTok video went viral this month featuring clips of Corden’s choice of “gross” foods, including balut (boiled fertilized egg dish), pídàn (thousand-year-old egg) and xuě dòufǔ (pig blood).
