I.O.I is gearing up for a special reunion!
On April 13, it was reported that the group is gearing up for a live broadcast together on May 4 in celebration of their fifth anniversary.
The members reportedly gathered recently to discuss the upcoming event. According to industry representatives, nine of the members will be available to attend as Kyulkyung is currently in China and Kang Mina is filming for her upcoming drama. However, they are working on potentially participating in other ways such as via video calls.
Consisting of Somi, Kim Sejeong, Weki Meki’s Choi Yoojung and Kim Doyeon, Chungha, Kim So Hye, Kyulkyung, DIA’s Jung Chaeyeon, Kang Mina, Lim Nayoung, and WJSN’s Yeonjung, I.O.I debuted as a project group in 2016 as a result of the survival program “Produce 101.” They debuted on May 4, 2016 and disbanded in January 2017.

K-pop project group I.O.I, which broke up in 2017, will reunite in a live broadcast, May 4, to celebrate the fifth anniversary of its debut.
But according to reports Tuesday, two members, Kang Mi-na and Zhou Jieqiong, will not participate as Kang already has a preset schedule and Zhou is currently staying in China.
What the members will do with their fans for the broadcast remains unknown for now.

On March 11, the ceremony for the 40th Golden Cinema Film Festival was held in Seoul. The Golden Cinema Film Festival is organized by the Korean Society of Cinematographers, and the event had previously been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Director Bong Joon Ho’s “Parasite” took home the award for Best Film, and the Best Director award went to Jung Ji Young for “Black Money.” Song Kang Ho took the Actor’s Grand Prize for his performance in “Parasite.”
Jo Jin Woong bagged Best Actor for “Black Money” and Honey Lee secured Best Actress for her performance in the same film. Lee Kwang Soo was named Best Supporting Actor for his work in “Inseparable Bros” while the Best Supporting Actress title went to Kim Mi Kyung for “Kim Ji Young, Born 1982.”
