DUBAI: Address Hotels and Resorts will be coming to Saudi Arabia soon … but in the meantime, the company has been creating records in the UAE.
There was a lively vibe from the moment we entered the lobby of the Address Beach Resort in Dubai. The lounge was operating at full capacity (as per COVID-19 health and safety guidelines), serving teas, coffees, and light bites to tourists, groups of friends, and businesspeople.
At reception, we were welcomed by a friendly member of staff to assist with check-in. This was our first visit to the hotel, which opened in December, and we had high hopes – not only because of its excellent location and stunning views, but also for its Guinness World Record-holding features. But more on that later.

On May 3, the 2021 edition of the What’s On Abu Dhabi Awards took place, and for the first time ever, we went virtual. It was still packed with that same signature razzle-dazzle, we still dished out 39 of the biggest leisure and entertainment awards in the emirate, we just made sure it was safe for all involved. Because we love you.
And the winners in most of these categories were decided by you, the voting public, but there were also four Big Prize winners, selected by us here at the What’s On team, awarded for outstanding contribution to making Abu Dhabi an incredible place to live. Especially in what has unquestionably been, a challenging year.
Guinness World Record-holding gardens in Cumbria create World Topiary Day
A Guinness World Record-holding gardens in Cumbria has created the first World Topiary Day.
South Lakes visitor attraction, Levens Hall and Gardens, which is home to the worldâs oldest topiary gardens, located near Kendal, has chosen to dedicate May 12 as this was the day its annual 19th-century ‘Radish Feast’ was held.
The boisterous Radish Feast was staged in and around its magnificent topiary gardens, making it a fitting date to choose.
The topiary gardens were created by French garden designer, Guillaume Beaumont, in 1694, using skills learned with Andre le Notre, designer of the Palace of Versaillesâ gardens, for King Louis XIV. Â
