Faraday Future merger promises to raise $1B to make electric cars in Hanford
Kings residents have heard the promises before â to make electric cars at the old Pirelli tire plant in Hanford to sell worldwide.
The start-up company, LA-based Faraday Future (FF) has had less than a stellar record to date.But now may just be their time.Â
They have leased the sprawling Hanford facility since 2017. The company prototype car FF91 made a big splash at an automotive show in 2016 where it was compared favorably to Tesla s performance. But it has been downhill since with staff hired then fired and the founder going bankrupt.

Saturday, she was awarded the highest rank by the Boy Scouts of America Sequoia Council.
From Madera to Kings Counties, Amanda is the first female to reach the status of Eagle Scout. I thought it was a dream at first and then I knew it was reality, she said.
Instead of pinching herself, a handheld box with a collection of awards reminds her that it s real. It has my mentor pins, my parents pins and my badge, she said.
Amanda is following in the footsteps of her older brother, but she s forged her own path and she s exceeded so many expectations along the way.

On Tuesday, it was the turn of workers at American Ambulance to receive COVID-19 vaccinations at the Fresno County Fairgrounds.
American Ambulance answers more than 400 calls a day in Fresno and Kings Counties and the vaccination can minimize the risk they take every day. Every day we are transporting patients that have COVID and every day our staff puts themselves at risk, so recognizing the importance of that first responder and that frontline healthcare professional was really important to us, said American Ambulance Director of Field Operations Edgar Escobedo.
