Ridgefielders Organize Memorial Day Car Parade Written by Brian Anthony
Having discovered that the 2021 Main Street Memorial Day parade was once again canceled due to Covid concerns, local residents have banded together to re-create last year’s vehicle parade through town. Organizer Brian Armstrong said, “We were all disappointed to find out that this year s Memorial Day parade was canceled, but as soon as we heard the news, we knew we had to bring back the Memorial Day Car Parade!”
Building on last year’s success, in which over 65 cars participated, Armstrong says he expects this year’s car parade to be even bigger and better. “Last year the idea came to me on the Friday before Memorial Day and we worked through the weekend to try to get the word out and make sure everything was a go for Monday. This year we had enough time to start promoting the event earlier, so I’m hoping more people have a chance to participate, he remarked.

PENNSAUKEN The calico cat greeted a visitor to Almost Home Animal Shelter with a loud meow! from its crate, separated from other felines by a room but still making its presence known.
The shelter s front office was in disarray, but that s to be expected, given the shelter s looming deadline to vacate the rented space in an industrial building just off Route 130 in Pennsauken.
Nancy Welsh, the shelter s founder, apologized for the chaos, but she and the shelter s small staff and volunteers have been concentrating less on organization and more on finding homes for the cats and dogs in their care.
