SUQUAMISH – Two pedestrians walking in downtown Suquamish suffered critical injuries after they were struck by a vehicle Tuesday night.
The two people had been walking in a crosswalk on Suquamish Way in the downtown area near South Street, Kitsap County Sheriff s Office spokesman Ken Dickinson said. The two were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Dickinson said the driver was an elderly man and was cooperating with the investigation into the crash. Drugs and alcohol were not suspected to be a factor in the incident, he said.
The crash was initially reported a little after 5 p.m.
