This week we sit down with Taos Ski Valley’s CEO David Norden to talk about how the pandemic is affecting them, their future development plans, their relationship with the Village of Taos Ski Valley, his concerns over global warming, and other issues. ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Albuquerque-based OE Solar built New Mexico’s only existing community solar project to date at Picuris Pueblo north of Santa Fe.
The 1 megawatt array, which came online in 2018, now provides solar-generated electricity to about 600 homes in the Pensaco Valley. The pueblo financed the $2.2 million project with assistance from the U.S. Department of Energy, and about $500,000 in front-end funding from OE Solar to get development going while the tribal government sought commercial loans, said OE founder and CEO Adam Harper.
