員警詢問老翁停放機車的位置，但他僅記得停在校門旁邊，無法清楚表達正確地點，就連車牌號碼也只記得數字的部分。員警研判老翁可能是忘了車停在哪，便先利用其身分證統一編號，查詢車籍資料系統，確認老翁的車牌號碼，隨後由線上巡邏員警在附近來回尋車。
經員警的一番努力，不到5分鐘就在距離報案地點約200公尺的學校側門邊，找到老翁的機車，老翁這才驚覺是自己記錯位置，感到相當不好意思，連忙向員警致歉，同時也感謝員警的熱心，幫忙尋回機車，讓他能順利返家。◇
