So far, five patients ‘ended’ their lives in Vizag in the last two months
A 28-year-old man, who was undergoing treatment for COVID-19, reportedly ended his life by jumping from the third floor of the CSR Block of King George Hospital (KGH) here on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Vanthala Ramesh, a resident of Araku mandal.
According to the police, Ramesh had been undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for the last few days. The reasons for him to take the drastic step are not yet known. A case was registered and investigation is on. Those who are in distress can contact the police helpline No. 100.

Andhra Medical College Alumni Association of North America (AMCANA) has contributed emergency relief equipment and consumables worth ₹50 lakh to King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam.
The relief material, which includes oxygen concentrators, BiPap machines, NIV masks, PPE kits, N-95 masks, insulin syringes, glucometers and disposable gloves, was handed over to Dr. Mythili, Superintendent of KGH, Visakhapatnam.
After receiving the relief material, Dr. Mythili thanked AMCANA for its gesture and said that AMCANA has always stepped up to help in the time of need.

The city police on Wednesday arrested eight youth in connection with the assault and murder bid on a doctor that occurred at King George Hospital on Tuesday.
The accused were identified as E. Vinay Kumar (21), A. Lokesh (22), A. Rajesh (21), E. Bhaskar (23), K. Ramesh (20), L. Lokeswara Rao (21), N. Naveen (23), and D. Bhaskar alias Chinna Basha (20), all belonging to various parts of the city.
Addressing a press conference here in the city on Wednesday, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Harbour sub-division) Sireesha said that all the accused were reportedly in a drunken state and allegedly attacked junior doctor Dr. C. Sridatha Prasad Reddy (29), a second-year post graduate at the mortuary hall in King George Hospital (KGH).
