Fest in Place for New Year s
WWOZ 90.7 FM is helping people celebrate the arrival of a New Year with a long weekend installment of Festing in Place. Some of the past sets the station will rebroadcast include a Dr. John show at Tipitinaâs in 1999 and a John Boutte set of the same vintage. Thereâs music by an all-star list of locals as well as Jazz Fest sets by powerhouse jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves and Afro pop legend King Sunny Ade. Special sets start at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31 and continue 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, through Sunday, Jan. 3, closing with a Neville Brothers set from Jazz Fest 2010.
