Americans could have their normal lives by the fall of 2021. American leading infectious disease specialist Dr. Anthony Fauci made this remark in an online discussion with California Governor Gavin Newsom provided that enough number of people decide to receive the jab and if COVID vaccine administration picks up.
Fauci said that assuming that if the vaccination campaign progresses as it should by July, there will be enough herd immunity by early fall of 2021 to return to a situation with strong semblance of normality, opening up restaurants, theaters, schools, and sports events.

If COVID Vaccine Delivery Accelerates, Herd Immunity Possible by July, Life to Normalize by Spring 2021 – Fauci says
Dr. Anthony Fauci said on Sunday that he did not deliberately move the goalposts for when the country would reach herd immunity, saying he was only offering guestimates before.
Fauci told New York Times that when polls said only about half of Americans would get the vaccine, he lowered the numbers to only 70 to 75 percent to reach herd immunity.
However, when more people started saying they will get vaccinated, Fauci also bumped up the herd immunity estimate to about 80 percent. We have to realize that we have to be humble and realize what we don t know. These are pure estimates, Fauci said.

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar and U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams joined faculty and administrators of George Washington University Hospital on Monday as the first doses of the facility’s initial coronavirus vaccine doses were administered, with Azar urging Americans not to let their guard down against the disease.
“We’re here today because of the extraordinary medical achievement our country has delivered this week through President Trump’s ‘Operation Warp Speed,’” HHS Secretary Azar said while speaking at the “National Ceremonial COVID-19 Vaccination Kick Off Event.” “Today health care providers across America are going to work to administer vaccines to those most vulnerable, and their coworkers.”
