According to the Gaon Music Chart,
BLACKPINK s first mini-album, SQUARE UP, is the most successful debut album by a K-pop girl group. Released on Jun. 15, 2018, the mini-album has sold 371,698 copies since its release. Within the first fifteen days of its release, SQUARE UP sold 1790,000 copies and debuted at the top of the Gaon Albums Chart.

Not only is BTS s 2020 release Map of the Soul: 7 the best-selling album by a K-pop boy group, it is also the best-selling album in South Korean history. It has reportedly sold a whopping 4,440,818 copies in South Korea.
Upon its release, Map of the Soul: 7 debuted at the top of the Gaon Album Chart, having sold over 2.65 million copies within the first six hours of its release.

Based on the top 100 album sales for the first quarter, Rosé ranked at the top for the female category. According to the Gaon Chart, Rosé sold 446,314 physical copies of -R-, amounting to 29.1% of the total shares among female singers. It is the best-selling single album by a Korean female solo artist.
